Tribute to Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi

Nivesh was commissioned to create and narrate the story of Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi in schools in Delhi and Dehra Dun. Master storyteller Shaguna Gahilote developed the storyboard entwining the music and life-story of MS Subbulakshmi, which she told to private, public and charity schools as part of the Ghummakkad Narain festival in Delhi and Dehra Dun from 12 to 16 September 2017. Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) is celebrating the centenary of the famous classical singer and the first woman musician to be awarded the Bharat Ratna; they commissioned Nivesh to take MS's story to schools. The children welcomed the story of MS Subbulakshmi which they found both heart-warming and inspiring. Many children were found to enthusiastically enquire about further details of MS's work and music long after the session was over.
